The Opportunity

The Analytics & Advisory (A&A) part of the Consulting business are the Systems Integration Contractor on the Thames Tideway Tunnel project and are responsible for providing process control and communication equipment and software systems for operation, maintenance and reporting across the Thames Tideway Tunnel system and are an essential delivery partner for this high-profile project.

A&A uses a flexible and agile approach to systems engineering and are enthusiastic about the use of new technologies. Beyond the Tideway SCADA role, as a Senior Engineer with us, you will develop solutions to meet and exceed client’s expectations using leading edge technology and innovation.

The role:

As a Senior SCADA Engineer, you will work with a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, a high-profile client, and joint venture worksite contractors; therefore, good communication and people skills are essential. You will be reporting to the Design Manager and System Support Manager. Key responsibilities include:

• Working with high-profile clients to establish their requirements and aspirations
• Evaluating appropriate technologies and produce option reports with recommendations
• Driving projects forward by developing unique solutions to unchallenged problems in infrastructure
• Developing designs in accordance with client’s requirements and relevant design standards to achieve cost effective solutions
• Develop SCADA applications in accordance with the design, working closely with PLC engineers and our in-house verification and validation team.

What you will bring to us:

• Experience working with the following Rockwell Automation software:

• • FactoryTalk View (Site Edition) ideally in virtualised and distributed network architectures
  • FactoryTalk View Historian
  • FactoryTalk View Vantage Point (Reports Package)
  • Studio 5000 (PLC programming in ladder logic, structured text, function block diagram, sequential flow chart)

• Good documentation skills (e.g. FDS, SDS, O&M manuals, clear and concise code commenting)
• Good communication skills
• Experience in or an appreciation for the full system integration project lifecycle (specification, design, develop, test, installation and commissioning)

• Experience in designing and implementing server and network infrastructure

(including virtual environments, Modbus protocol, SQL server)

• Good engineering degree (or equivalent portfolio/work experience).

Desirable:

• Experience in the water industry
• Experience of Cyber security implementation within a control system environment
• Experience of DNP3 and Modbus, especially with Rockwell Automation PLCs
