BuildForce Kendal to Preston 50 Mile Ultra Tag Relay
In May 2025, BuildForce created 2 teams for the ‘Kendal to Preston 50 mile Ultra’ to raise funds for our Mental Health and Suicide Prevention programme. Lifelong friends were made through our training community inspiring each other to keep running, including further half marathons, dinners, beers with lots of laughs and support.
Sadly, we recently lost a member of our relay team, BuildForce Ambassador Andy Rhodes. The BuildForce teams made a pact they would return in 2026, therefore, we will be running to honour Andy’s memory with the event organiser awarding a trophy to the fastest 9-mile leg which Andy ran.
On 16th May 2026, we would like YOU to join us in aid of BuildForce, our veterans and Andy’s memory.
The route is flat! Beginning at Lakeland Maize Maze Farm, Sedgwick, outskirts of Kendal, finishing at the Smiths Arms, Lea Town – a nice cold pint waiting! Whether running solo or as part of a team, all are welcome!
You’ll be treated to breathtaking vistas, with Morecambe Bay to your right and the stunning landscapes of hills and dales to your left. Whether your first venture into ultra-distance running or a veteran of the terrain, the Kendal to Preston Ultra 50 is not just a race but a journey of discovery, resilience, and camaraderie. Alongside like-minded adventurers, you’ll uncover the rugged beauty concealed within every mile, celebrating both personal victories and shared triumphs.

BuildForce will:
