Amey Consulting’s Highways teams impact the journeys of millions across the UK, by working in partnership with a range of clients and providing consultancy design services for Strategic and Local Highway networks.
Our teams work on both major design projects and local network improvements and undertake services on national to local frameworks. We are passionate about the highways projects that we design and take pride in seeing our towns and cities thrive by improving connectivity, journey times and quality of life.
The role
Amey Consulting are looking to appoint a Commercial Manager in their Highways division to support the delivery teams across a variety of contracts, including NEC4 and bespoke contracts.
Your role will be responsible for reviewing and analysing cost and value reports, assisting with project budgetary control and forecasting. You will be providing contractual guidance to inform the Account managers, project managers and wider team of Amey’s and the Client’s responsibilities under each contract, helping to imbed commercial best practice within the teams. In addition, you will provide support in the production of Early Warnings / Compensation Events and be responsible for ensuring Accounts are operating in accordance with Amey’s bidding governance processes. You will also be responsible for managing supplier accounts and reviewing and managing risk, all whilst maintaining strong, professional and effective working relationships with internal colleagues and Clients.
As a CM you will be part of the Consulting commercial team, whilst also being embedded within the operational teams of the Accounts you support. You will work with the Account managers and project managers on a daily basis, as well as establishing meaningful working relationships with the Finance and Operations teams. Through implementation of commercial best practice to maximise value and minimise risk and cost to Amey, with a customer focused delivery, you will help to promote the development of the non-commercial staff to ensure commercial process are embedded through the team.
This is an opportunity to work within a growing design and consultancy contracts team and to gain exposure to a wide range of works on a multidisciplinary contract, within a dynamic and challenging environment.
Whilst working remotely, there may be a requirement for some travel between offices on occasion; including to our central Birmingham office at such times as budget reviews, training etc.
