Regional Quality Manager (London & Home Counties Business)

Location: London or Welwyn Garden City
Project Based/Office Based, with flexibility for occasional remote working

We are looking for an experienced and talented Regional Quality Manager to
Support the local area businesses and project teams within the London & Home Counties region ensuring compliance with and the continuous improvement of the Morgan Sindall Quality Management System throughout the project lifecycle.

About the role:

You will be working within our Construction London & Home Counties business, where you will:

  • Take the lead on driving SIMSGo to manage quality across the region, ensuring all new projects are engaged in the system.
  • Take the lead in implementing a quality induction training session to all new Morgan Sindall staff and refresher training as required.
  • Support project teams in delivering Quality and SIMS training to our supply chain.
  • Ensure quality pre-starts are carried out with the supply chain on every project, supporting and attending alongside the PM on high-risk projects and packages or where teams are not familiar with the process.
  • Ensure that each project has a detailed and specific quality plan (using SIMSGo), ensuring quality plans, ITP’s, and check lists are in place.
  • Develop exemplar ITP’s and check lists and share across region.
  • Influence, share and feedback information from local and national Quality Forums. Develop Quality Alerts where required and share alerts from other regions.
  • Deliver quality advice and guidance at all levels to pre-construction and operational teams to minimize the risk of defective work.
  • Work with the delivery teams to ensure that there are adequate allowances for checking quality and snagging throughout the whole project.
  • Undertake periodic (monthly quality reviews on our projects ensuring processes are being followed, and quality is managed effectively using SIMSGo
  • Attend PRM’s on high-risk projects to talk through the quality review, raise any issues and give a true reflection of the project performance on Quality
  • Support project teams with inspections where the subcontractor is is new or issues exist.
  • Ensure each project has an adequate countdown to completion programme in place with clearly defined milestones.
  • Ensure (and support) the project teams with collating the necessary project handover information in a timely manner.
  • Participate in off-site quality visits to support the project teams (if required) on key packages.
  • Support quality planning processes during the pre-construction process.

Ideally you will have:

  • Extensive knowledge of MS quality management systems and application of quality management throughout all stages of the construction process.
  • Technical awareness of commonly used construction techniques
  • Knowledge of effective customer service management strategies
  • and best practice
  • Detailed knowledge of a wide range of current best practice and working
  • effectively with managers and staff to achieve the most effective results
  • Significant management level experience including experience of
  • implementing new and creative solutions to maximise service performance

As an experienced Regional Quality Manager, you will have a good understanding Good management skills, with the ability to motivate self and colleagues to perform, excellent organisational, planning and time management skills; able to manage activities / projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality, sound knowledge of the construction industry, ability to ensure standards and specifications are met, ability to work with colleagues to contribute to project and operational, performance, sound knowledge of construction practices and standards.
