Social Value Coordinator (London Business)

Location: London
Project Based, with flexibility for occasional remote working

We are looking for an experienced and talented Social Value Coordinator to
assist the Social Value Manager in delivering a range of Social Value activities to achieve targets on construction projects, create engaging materials that promote London Social Value initiatives, in line with corporate branding guidelines internally and externally across a range of media, including social media networks/platforms. This position is project based, with flexibility for occasional/ remote working.

About the role:

You will be working within our Construction London & Home Counties business, where you will:

Have an awareness of Community Benefits and Social Value and the various internal and external reporting mechanisms.

Provide administrative/ reporting assistance to support Social Value activities.

Have a good understanding of data collection to measure Social outcomes by collecting monthly data from construction project sites and upload the data on the Social Value Portal

Assisting with sourcing information for tenders, e.g.Council employability strategies and contacts; local community groups and activities; local suppliers, including Third Sector Organisations (TSOs). Assist in discharging section 106 obligations in helping to arrange local employment, work experience, apprenticeships, and T-Level opportunities for local communities in the areas where we work.

Supporting project teams to embed and deliver Social Value opportunities for our projects.

Explore creative and innovative ways to deliver social value activities and initiatives that would add positive value to communities in which we work in.

Establish and sustain relations with key partners and stakeholders.

Set up regular meetings with Supply Chain Partners to discuss Social Value targets and discuss wider community engagement opportunities for partners to collaborate on.

Identifying Social Value developments/initiatives in the wider industry and bringing that intel/those ideas to the table for consideration.

Assisting the Social Value Manager and Site teams by facilitating educational activities such as Site Visits, this may include giving presentations to schools and colleges and community engagement activities.

Promote Morgan Sindall as the industry leaders in delivering social value on projects.

Generate content, create, and gain approval for marketing materials in line with regional marketing plans:

  • Collate content including digital images for good news stories, social value and site newsletters, project profiles and case studies
  • Create and gain approval for social media posts in line with Social Value and regional marketing plans
  • Upload data on the Morgan Sindall Social Value Bank on all London construction projects.

Ideally you will have:

Social Value and Community engagement experience within the main contracting market

Drive and confidence to be able to organise and deliver social value opportunities, this may range from giving a talk in a school or college on careers in construction, events for local charitable organisations in the areas around projects, or finding and sourcing work experience or apprentice students to work on our projects.

Good understanding of the need to measure and capture social value data

Desirable: Understanding of implementing s106obligations on construction projects
